Proximity voice chat lets players hear each other based on distance in the game world. Walk closer, voices get louder. Walk away, they fade out. It’s the most natural way to communicate in roleplay and open-world game servers.
Supported platforms
GameVox proximity voice works with:
- FiveM (GTA V multiplayer)
- RedM (Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer)
- RAGE:MP (GTA V multiplayer)
- alt:V (GTA V multiplayer)
Each platform has a lightweight resource that connects to GameVox’s voice infrastructure. Setup takes a few minutes per server.
How it works
The game server sends player positions to GameVox in real time. GameVox handles the spatial audio processing, adjusting volume, panning, and falloff based on distance between players. All voice processing happens on our voice servers, not on the game server itself.
Voice zones
Server owners can define voice zones for specific areas: interiors, cars, phone calls, radio channels. Each zone has its own distance and volume settings. Players in the same car hear each other clearly regardless of outside noise. Radio channels let players communicate across the map.
