About GameVox
Independent. Self-funded. Well over a decade in gaming voice chat.
You are the customer, not the product. We will never shove ads down your throat or sell your data. We only ask for a fair payment to keep the lights on. Our only obligation is to you.
Who We Are
GameVox is built by LightSpeed Gaming, a small independent company that's been running voice chat for gaming communities for well over a decade.
No venture capital. No investors. No board of directors. No plans to go corporate. The only people we answer to are our users. That's how we like it.
Our History
LightSpeed Gaming has hosted and operated voice platforms that gamers actually used:
We started by hosting Mumble servers for gaming clans back when the options were slim.
Ventrilo era We became one of the largest Ventrilo hosting providers. Thousands of gaming communities ran their voice chat through us.
We expanded into TeamSpeak hosting as the scene moved on.
LightSpeed Gaming acquired Ventrilo. If you gamed in the 2000s, you probably used it.
We launched GameVox in open beta. Everything we learned running voice platforms for over a decade went into it.
Why We Built GameVox
After years of hosting other people's platforms, we knew what gamers needed and what the industry kept getting wrong. Platforms started treating users as products: mining data, pushing ads, letting investors call the shots.
So we built our own. Fast, private, and focused on what matters. No ads. No data selling. No corporate nonsense.
What We Believe
Customers First
We have one group to satisfy: our users. No investors, no advertisers, no third parties pulling the strings. When you pay for GameVox, you're paying for a service, not becoming a product.
Privacy by Default
We don't record your calls, scan your messages for ad targeting, or sell your data. Your conversations are yours. Period.
Small and Focused
We're a small team and proud of it. Small means fast. Feedback gets heard, changes ship the same day.
Built for Gamers
We've been in the gaming voice space for well over a decade. We know what works because we've lived it: from Mumble to Ventrilo to TeamSpeak to now.
Child Safety
We have zero tolerance for child exploitation. GameVox actively combats CSAM, reports all violations to NCMEC and law enforcement, and cooperates fully to protect children from harm. This is non-negotiable.
Powered by AWS
GameVox runs on Amazon Web Services. Multiple regions, automatic scaling, and the kind of uptime you'd expect from infrastructure that runs half the internet.
Where We're Headed
GameVox is in open beta. We ship updates constantly based on what users tell us. We're not chasing a billion-dollar valuation. We're building the best voice chat for gaming communities.
Feedback, ideas, or just want to say hello: support@gamevox.com. We read every message.
