Moving a community between platforms is a pain. We built the Discord Import tool to make it as smooth as possible.

What gets imported

The import tool brings over your server structure:

  • Channels and categories with their names and ordering
  • Roles with color and hierarchy (permissions are mapped to the closest GameVox equivalent)
  • Message history from text channels
  • Member list (members will need to create GameVox accounts and rejoin)

What doesn’t transfer

Some things can’t cross the platform boundary:

  • Bot configurations (GameVox has its own bot system coming soon)
  • Nitro-specific features (stickers, custom profiles)
  • Voice channel state (obviously)

How to run the import

  1. Go to Server Settings > Import in your GameVox server
  2. Authorize the import tool with your Discord account
  3. Select which server to import from
  4. Choose what to bring over (channels, roles, messages, or all)
  5. Start the import and wait for it to finish

The process runs in the background. Your GameVox server stays usable while it imports. Larger servers with extensive message history may take longer.

After the import

Share the new GameVox invite link with your community. We recommend running both platforms in parallel for a transition period so nobody gets left behind.
